35th Ave Locksmith Cold Weather and Your Car Door Locks
Don’t every apply heat (flame) to your key or the door lock hoping to thaw out the lock so it can open. The problem is that you can damage delicate electronics that may be in your key fob as well as the car door itself.
If your car has non electronic locks and your key carries no electronics in it you can use direct heat (a lighter) or hot water on the key to thaw the car door lock.
Don’t pour hot water on your key or the door lock hoping to thaw out the lock so it can open. The problem is that the water can damage delicate electronics that may be in your key fob as well as the car door itself.
Don’t use a wrench or some type of bar to force your key to turn in the lock. More than likely you will break off your key in the lock. Metal fractures with surprisingly little force when it's cold out. Your cold car key could break off in the car door lock, or you could damage the lock mechanism. Either way, it's better to be patient and don't try to force the key to turn.
Warm The Door Lock With A Hair Dryer: This is the most time-consuming method for de-icing a car door lock. You'll need to run an extension cord out to your car and focus the hair dryer on the door lock to unfreeze the lock mechanism.
Try Another Door: If your car model has multiple manual door locks you can try another door. It sounds simple, but many people get flustered and panic when they discover that their car door lock is frozen and they may not think of trying another door! Try another door or the hatch. Often, one of the other door locks will work just fine!
Call 35th Ave Locksmith for a house call to get your car door open with no damage to the key fob or electronic door locks.

35th Ave Locksmith 12 Tips To Prevent Home Burglary
I hate to say it but right now you need to forget the 12 Days of Christmas and think about 12 things you can do to get the bad guys away from your home.
People are your best defense — be that visibly nosy neighbor. Let anyone walking the neighborhood or sitting in a parked car see you watching them. Make a note of car license plates and if anyone behaves suspiciously or stays in their car for a lengthy period, call 911.
Tell close neighbors you TRUST if you plan to be away or expect any deliveries. If they’re in the know they’re more likely to notice something you didn’t mention and spot unexpected callers at your home (burglars often call at the front door of a house to check if anyone is there).
And, if you are going away, use timers to switch lights on and off at random, cancel newspapers and put a hold on your mail deliveries — or, to guard your schedule, arrange for the trusted neighbor to collect them. Don’t post vacation plans on social media.
Having a dog is a huge deterrent. Ironically, burglars are far more likely to avoid a house with a small dog than a big one — some small dogs tend to be nervous and less easy to trick into calming down. They’re less trustful and bark louder and longer.
Take a walk around your home, inside and out, to figure where the weakest link in your security might be — like leaving a window open in a secluded spot. High-risk places include the door from your garage into the house, back doors, side “breezeways” where a burglar would not be seen, and large shrubs close to the residence where thieves could hide.
Take action to increase protection in these vulnerable places — like installing keyed window locks and deadbolts on doors and using toughened glass in windows and doors. Remove those shrubs. If you leave windows open on the second floor, make sure your extension ladder is locked away.
Be wary about who you allow into your home and how much information you give about your belongings and schedule. This applies even with neighbors you don’t know or fully trust (“inside” jobs are not uncommon). And don’t leave valuables in view, inside or from outside the house.
If you’re able, vary the times you leave and return home. If your household has several cars, vary who drives them, making it more difficult for an observer to know who is home and when.
Make it tough for home burglary prowlers to know whether they’re under surveillance. Fake cameras can be good — but only if they could be taken for the real thing, not cheap plastic devices with flashing lights, which home burglars easily identify.
Fake security stickers or signs don’t work either, but, if you have an alarm, real stickers and signs work.
Control access to and around your property. Consider motion-activated lights, even on the street outside your home. Neighborhood Watch, Video Surveillance, No Parking, and No Outlet signs can be effective against home burglary too. This way, would-be thieves know you mean business.
Motion-activated cameras are another powerful weapon — both as a home burglary deterrent and, linked to a computer (and, better yet, to a home network), to record images of your unwelcome visitors. These days, these devices are inexpensive. Network-linked cameras costing around $85 can even email images so you have an off-site backup.
An alarm system, preferably with a visible box outside the house, will not only deter crooks but sound an immediate alert of a home burglary. You might seriously consider a system that’s monitored 24/7 by a security company who will quickly notify law enforcement of an incident.

35th Ave Locksmith Home Invasions On The Rise
Recent Law Enforcement Studies have shown home invasion robberies are on the rise!
Frequently the invasions are the work of gangs who mark their victims at exclusive shopping centers or grocery stores. By lying in wait and using surveillance techniques, the predators watch for a potential victim driving expensive vehicles, or wearing exclusive clothes and watches. Women and elderly people are especially profiled because they offer little or no resistance when the armed attackers decide to strike. Frequently the predators will follow the victim home but not attack until they have had time to reconnoiter the neighborhood and determine their route of escape. The predators will take their time to ensure they have selected the right victim, and then plot when to strike and how much time to spend inside the residence.
Gardeners and vendors working in exclusive neighborhoods and in wealthy homes are sometimes working with criminals that line up the invasions. They have the ability to be quiet observers without being noticed. Some home invaders might have been in your home before as a delivery person, installer or repair vendor.
Home invasion robbers work most often at night and on weekends when homes are likely to be occupied. They rarely work alone and rely on an overwhelming physical confrontation to gain initial control. The violence usually occurs during the initial sixty seconds of the confrontation and home invaders frequently have handcuffs, rope, duct tape and firearms to subdue their victims.
What You Need To Do To Avoid Being Victimized
First, always be aware of your surroundings and notice anything unusual. Avoid driving expensive exclusive vehicles to public areas and be particular where you park your vehicle. Underground parking garages are especially dangerous because they offer predators hiding places they are not afforded in open parking areas. When leaving a shopping area or any other venue and starting home, take the time to check your rear view mirror to notice if someone appears to be following you. If you detect what you think is someone tracking your vehicle, do not return to your residence, but drive to a police station or fire station. Attempt to get a description of the vehicle, occupants, and the license plate number. Be particularly suspicious of manned unfamiliar vehicles that are parked near your home on the street. Predators frequently wait for you to pull into your driveway and garage. They can be at your car door with a gun before you can exit your vehicle
Second, ensure that your home is alarmed and connected to a monitoring station, preferably the police department. Signage that your home is alarmed should appear in front of your home as well as at the rear of your dwelling.
Third, a fence and gate is helpful in forming a natural barrier to define your property line. Intrusion lighting is relatively inexpensive, but a great deterrent for someone creeping up on your home.
Fourth, invest in and train a dog. Were not talking about a miniature poodle. A German shepherd, American Bulldog, Doberman, or other large but alert dog will provide aggressive defense of a home and provide early warning that your home may be at risk of being invaded.
Fifth, always vet the person knocking on your door before opening the door. Install a peephole and if you do not know the individual have an intercom outside to speak to the person to determine their interest.
Sixth, keep pepper spray or a taser in your home unless you have small children. While pepper spray and a taser is not lethal, it could buy time to get away from an intruder to alert law enforcement or a neighbor. Likewise you may want to purchase and keep a firearm in the house, but again it depends if you have small children and whether you want to take the risk of having a lethal weapon present. If you do decide to purchase and keep a firearm in the residence, be sure that you visit a firing range and have a professional work with you and your spouse on how to fire the weapon and know the parameters of engagement and the legal consequences if you fire the weapon at an intruder.
Seventh, have a safe room in the house where you can retreat and lock yourself away from an intruder if you have the time. Be sure to maintain a charged cell telephone in the safe room to alert law enforcement.

The model that you choose can depend both on the function that you desire, as well as your budget. Just as the key function can vary from lock-to-lock, so can the installation of one of these digital lock models. Some locks are installed over your existing key-way, while others must be installed as an entirely new lock set. 35th Ave Locksmith Presents Key Arizona Places: Meteor Crater
The world’s best preserved meteorite impact site on Earth. Located just minutes from Interstate 40 approximately 37 miles east of Flagstaff and 18 miles west of Winslow in the northern Arizona desert of the United States. Meteor Crater is the breath-taking result of a collision between an asteroid traveling 26,000 miles per hour and planet Earth approximately 50,000 years ago.
The site was formerly known as the Canyon Diablo Crater and fragments of the meteorite are officially called the Canyon Diablo Meteorite. Scientists refer to the crater as Barringer Crater in honor of Daniel Barringer, who was first to suggest that it was produced by meteorite impact.
Meteor Crater is nearly one mile across, 2.4 miles in circumference and more than 550 feet deep. It is an international tourist venue with outdoor observation trails, air conditioned indoor viewing, wide screen movie theater, Interactive Discovery Center, unique gift and rock shop, and Astronaut Memorial Park at the Visitor Center located on the crater rim.
Meteor Crater’s “IMPACT, Mystery of Meteor Crater” movie, featuring exciting 3D modeling and animation allows viewers to experience the thunderous sound and explosive fury of the meteor’s super-heated trip through the Earth’s atmosphere. The spectacular result of the collision that rocked the American Southwest with the energy of more than 20 million tons of TNT can be explored first-hand just outside the Discovery Center.
The Meteor Crater Interactive Discovery Center contains many exciting interactive displays and exhibits, making it the most extensive and informative museum of its type on earth. Visitors will relive the intensity of the impact. 50,000 years ago a fiery giant meteor mass weighing several hundred thousand tons hurtled through space and impacted the earth. The wide range of exhibits will fascinate and educate every person on the aspects of meteors and their encounters with the earth.
These twenty-four exciting exhibits comprise the most extensive and informative museum of its type on planet earth. One of the exhibits is a Russian Mystery ~ What was the blinding fireball that streaked across the Siberian sky in 1908 with an impact that sent shock waves around the world and was heard more than 600 miles away?
While you are there, make a it a priority to visit the Gift Shop and Rock Shop and you must take the time to take a rim tour. This is the best way to experience the crater. The tour is done by our staff. Then, grab a bite to eat at Subway, located next to the gift shop.
There are three different lookout points to view the crater. Visitors should try to allow 1 1/2 hours to go trough the Discovery Center and lookouts and additional time for our guided rim trail tour, which will take an additional 45 minutes to an hour.

35th Ave Locksmith Support Neighborhood Business
Many local businesses face competition from the large big box retailers. Mom and Pop local restaurants face competition from the national chains of fast food and fine dining groups. Times are tough for most small businesses.
Heck, even your local family physician is facing competition from small clinics housed in some grocery stores and the big chain drugstores.
You no longer buy tires, batteries and get service at your local gas station. If fact we seldom buy gas at what amounts to an old fashion gas station. Today a service station is where you buy a big gulp with your gas purchase.
It is fair to say that times have changed.
In a way your local locksmiths have not suffered as much. While you can buy lock and lock parts and have keys made in many places, when you need a Locksmith, well you need a true locksmith. One thing you can’t find at your local mass merchandiser is a skilled and certified Locksmith.
Your families’ safety relies on how well your home can be locked. Perhaps we can say your business needs even better locks and security of those locks.
When you need a key made, it is safe to say that you want that key to work, first time and every time. So are you going to trust a machine to get it right? Are you going to trust the kid behind the counter at the local mall, with little to no training to make your keys?
If you want to be sure that your new keys work first time, every time, you need to trust a certified locksmith.
Did you know that a door knob or keyed entry lock can always be repaired or restored? You don’t have to buy a new one. Don’t expect your local home improvement store to tell you that. They will be happy to point you to their lock section.
We understand that customer satisfaction is what keeps us in business which is why we have made it a priority to have friendly service techs who are sensitive to your situation. Not only do we hire well trained and friendly technicians, they are also licensed in their craft.
This means that our technicians can not only get you back into your home or car, but they can also consult with you on installing commercial access controls, security systems, and burglary safes in order to keep you safe from potential security threats.

Yes, Break-ins Increase Around The Holidays
The holiday season should be a time for celebrating with friends and family. Unfortunately, it’s also prime time for break-ins and theft. Start the holidays off right and relieve some of your stress, by making sure your home and your car are protected with the right insurance coverages.
Good food, good cheer and of course gifts are focal points of the holiday season. The hustle and bustle, however, can blind us to heightened risk that surrounds us this time of year. Thefts and break-ins often increase during the holidays, since thieves know that many homes are empty and cars are stocked with high-priced gifts.
Use the following five simple tips to protect yourself and your property this holiday season:
1. Always leave lights on. Everyone looks forward to long vacations over the holidays, especially thieves. Empty houses are prime targets for burglary, but hiding the signs of vacancy can fool thieves into thinking you’re still home. Leaving lights on, asking a neighbor to get your mail and setting automatic timers on holiday lights and decorations can give the appearance of being home. It’s also smart to do a home security check and make any necessary updates before you leave.
2. Put your car on lock down. Shopping goes hand in hand with the holiday season. As you rush from store to store, it’s easy to leave bags and packages in the back seat of your car and in plain sight of thieves. Be sure to hide your purchases or put them in the trunk, park in well-lit areas, and lock your doors.
3. Protect your third-floor walk-up. Even security doors and building superintendents won’t deter a committed thief. But, there are steps you can take to help ensure your apartment is a secure as possible. The first and perhaps most important is to be vigilant. Ensure the locks on the building doors, whether to the laundry room, the bike room, or the outside world, are in proper working order. If they aren’t, call management. When leaving your apartment, be sure your balcony door is locked; thieves don’t always enter through the front door. And finally, check your windows periodically to make sure the hardware is secure.
4. Give yourself peace of mind. No matter how you prepare, theft can still find a way into your life. But, investing in homeowners, renters, and/or car insurance, can give you peace of mind and help you recover your seasonal cheer if a burglary does happen.
5. Know what you’ve got. If you become the victim of theft, it can make the claim process easier if you have a complete inventory of any missing items. One way to do this is to use a mobile-app, which allows you to organize your personal property by room, category, or in item lists. You can also photograph items and attribute a cost and quantity to each one.

How To Choose A Quality Locksmith
Many people consider finding the right school, doctor, bank, grocery store, gas station and even landscaper when moving to a new home or area.
Most folks don’t take time to think about hiring a locksmith until the need is an emergency. Maybe they have locked themselves out of their car. Or maybe they have managed to lock themselves outside their warm dry home on the coldest and rainiest of nights. By then, they are left scrambling for a number in their cell phone or trying to reach anyone who will answer the phone. Of course, it’s not all emergencies. Sometimes you may need a locksmith to simply change or install a lock.
1. Is A Great Locksmith Important?
Why not just pick the first name in the phone book? It’s not rocket science, right? Well, a good locksmith can be an important part of keeping you and your family safe. They help make sure that you can get in and out of your home and car. They make sure that the only people who have keys to your most treasured belongings.
2. What Makes A Locksmith Good?
A good locksmith will show up as soon as possible. They will be up front about their prices. A good locksmith will be insured and have lots of experience doing the kind of work you need done.
3. Is Your Locksmith Bid A Fair One?
If you are in an emergency situation, there probably won’t be time to comparison shop. The best way to get a fair locksmith bid is by familiarizing yourself with what a fair price should be. Call around and get quotes from several companies. This will give you a good average to go by. That’s why you should try to do this before you get in a bad situation. Find someone who gives you a fair price and then store their contact information in your wallet or smart phone. Like 35th Avenue Locksmith 602-242-5429
4. Double-check Locksmith Reviews
The internet is a great place to educate yourself about pretty much anything. Use the web to do a little research on locksmiths in your area. Sometimes, just typing in the name of your city and the word locksmith will turn up a wealth of information. Be on the lookout for really positive or really negative reviews of certain companies.
5. Signs You Have Found A Bad Locksmith
A bad locksmith won’t be completely honest about the total cost of the work to be done. They may not mention extra charges or the cost of replacement parts. The Federal Trade Commission has warned that some locksmith companies will pretend to be local, when they are really part of a multi-state company that dispenses potentially unskilled workers through a call center.

35th Ave Locksmith Presents Key Arizona Places: Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station
The Palo Verde Nuclear Generating Station is a nuclear power plant located near Tonopah, Arizona, in western part of the state. It is located about 45 miles due west of downtown Phoenix, Arizona, and it is located near the Gila River, which is dry except during the rainy season of the late summer.
The Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant is the largest power plant in the United States by net generation. Its average electric power production is about 3.3 gigawatts (GW), and this power serves about four million people. The Arizona Public Service Company (APS) owns 29.1 percent of the station and it also operates this power plant. Its other major owners include the Salt River Project (17.5%), the El Paso Electric Company (15.8%), Southern California Edison (15.8%), PNM Resources (10.2%), the Southern California Public Power Authority (5.9%), and the Los Angeles Department of Water and Power (5.7%).
The Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant is located in the Arizona desert, and is the only large nuclear power plant in the world that is not located near a large body of water. The power plant evaporates the water from the treated sewage from several nearby cities and towns to provide the cooling of the steam that it produces.
The Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant is located on 4,000 acres of land, and it consists of three pressurized water reactors, each with an original capacity to produce 1.27 GW of electric power. By 2007, this had been decreased slightly to 1.24 GW. The usual power production capacity is about 70 to 95 percent of this. This nuclear power plant is a major source of electric power for the densely populated parts of Southern Arizona and Southern California, e.g. the Phoenix-Scottsdale, and Tucson, Arizona, Los Angeles, and San Diego metropolitan areas.
The Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant produces about 35 percent of the electric power that is generated in Arizona. This power plant became fully operational by 1988, and it took twelve years to build and cost about 5.9 billion dollars. This power plant employs about 2,055 full-time workers.
The Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant supplies electricity at an operating cost (including fuel and maintenance) of about 1.33 cents per kilowatt-hour. This is cheaper than the cost of coal (2.26 cents per kW•h) or natural gas (4.54 cents per kW•h) in the region as of 2002. However, this power is more expensive than hydroelectric power (0.63 cents per kW•h). Assuming the plant remains in operation for 60 years with a five percent long-term cost of capital, the fixed cost is approximately another 1.4 cents per kilowatt-hour.
In 2002, the wholesale value of the electricity produced was 2.5 cents per kW•h. By 2007, the wholesale value of electricity at the Palo Verde Nuclear Power Plant was 6.33 cents per kW•h.

35th Ave Locksmith Has Holiday Safety Tips
The following Holiday Safety Tips were compiled to contribute to the safety and security of our community during the holiday season. The holiday season is always a special time of year. It is also a time when busy people become careless and vulnerable to theft and other holiday crime. We can never be too careful, too prepared or too aware.
Driving
Avoid driving alone or at night.
Keep all car doors locked and windows closed while in or out of your car. Set your alarm or use an anti-theft device.
If you must shop at night, park in a well-lighted area.
Avoid parking next to vans, trucks with camper shells, or cars with tinted windows.
Park as close as you can to your destination and take notice of where you parked.
Never leave your car unoccupied with the motor running or with children inside.
Do not leave packages or valuables on the seat of your car. This creates a temptation for thieves. If you must leave something in the car, lock it in the trunk or put it out of sight.
Be sure to locate your keys prior to going to your car.
Keep a secure hold on your purse, handbag and parcels. Do not put them down or on top of the car in order to open the door.
When approaching and leaving your vehicle be aware of your surroundings.
Do not approach your car alone if there are suspicious people in the area.
Ask mall, store security for an escort before leaving your shopping location.
Automated Teller Machines If you must use an ATM, choose one that is located inside a police station, mall, or well-lighted location. Withdraw only the amount of cash you need.
Protect your PIN by shielding the ATM keypad from anyone who is standing near you.
Do not throw your ATM receipt away at the ATM location.
Shopping
Shop during daylight hours. If you must shop at night, take a friend or family member.
Dress casually and comfortably.
Avoid wearing expensive jewelry.
Do not carry a purse or wallet, if possible.
Carry your Driver License or Identification Card along with necessary cash, checks and/or a credit card you expect to use.
Even though you are rushed and thinking about a thousand things, stay alert to your surroundings.
Never carry large amounts of cash.
Pay for purchases with a check or credit card when possible.
Keep cash in your front pocket.
Notify the credit card issuer immediately if your credit card is lost, stolen or misused.
Keep a record of all of your credit card numbers in a safe place at home.
Be extra careful if you do carry a wallet or purse. They are the prime targets of criminals in crowded shopping areas, transportation terminals, bus stops, on buses and other rapid transit.
Avoid overloading yourself with packages. It is important to have clear visibility and freedom of motion to avoid mishaps.
Beware of strangers approaching you for any reason. At this time of year, "con-artists" may try various methods of distracting you with the intention of taking your money or belongings.

35th Ave Locksmith Remembers Pearl Harbor
The Pearl Harbor attack began at 7:48 a.m. Hawaiian Time on December 7th. The base was attacked by 353 Japanese fighter planes, bombers, and torpedo planes in two waves, launched from six aircraft carriers.
All eight U.S. Navy battleships were damaged, with four being sunk. All but one, the Arizona, were later raised, and six of the eight battleships were returned to service and went on to fight in the war. The Japanese also sank or damaged three cruisers, three destroyers, an anti-aircraft training ship, and one minelayer. 188 U.S. aircraft were destroyed; 2,403 Americans were killed and 1,178 others were wounded.
Important base installations such as the power station, shipyard, maintenance, and fuel and torpedo storage facilities, as well as the submarine piers and headquarters building were not attacked.
Early in 1941, President Franklin D. Roosevelt moved the Pacific Fleet to Hawaii from its previous base in San Diego and ordered a military buildup in the Philippines in the hope of discouraging Japanese aggression in the Far East. Because the Japanese high command was (mistakenly) certain that any attack on Britain's Southeast Asian colonies would bring the U.S. into war, a devastating preventive strike appeared to be the only way to avoid U.S. naval interference.
An invasion of the Philippines was also considered necessary by Japanese war planners. The U.S. War Plan Orange had envisioned defending the Philippines with a 40,000-man elite force. This was opposed by Douglas MacArthur, who felt that he would need a force ten times that size, and was never implemented.
By 1941, U.S. planners anticipated abandonment of the Philippines at the outbreak of war and orders to that effect were given in late 1941 to Admiral Thomas Hart, commander of the Asiatic Fleet.
The U.S. ceased oil exports to Japan in July 1941, following Japanese expansion into French Indochina after the fall of France, in part because of new American restrictions on domestic oil consumption.
Japan and the U.S. engaged in negotiations during the course of 1941 in an effort to improve relations. During these negotiations, Japan offered to withdraw from most of China and Indochina when peace was made with the Nationalist government, adopt an independent interpretation of the Tripartite Pact, and not to discriminate in trade provided all other countries reciprocated. Washington rejected these proposals.
Japan's final proposal, on 20 November, offered to withdraw their forces from southern Indochina and not to launch any attacks in Southeast Asia provided that the U.S., Britain, and the Netherlands ceased aiding China and lifted their sanctions against Japan.

Tips for Picking a Good Locksmith Like 35th Ave Locksmith
What’s the best way to pick a reputable locksmith? Consider researching locksmiths before you need one, the same way you would a plumber, electrician, or other professional. That works well if you’re looking to have some security work done at your home, like installing deadbolts on the exterior doors of your house, or a safe in your bedroom.
But if you’re dealing with an emergency, like being locked out of your car, you really don’t have much time for thorough research.
In Emergency Situations:
If you’re locked out of your car and have a roadside assistance service, call them first. These services sometimes are included with the purchase of a car, or as an add-on through your insurance company. You also can buy this service separately. Roadside assistance plans often have a list of pre-approved companies to perform services like unlocking cars, jump-starting batteries, changing flat tires, delivering gasoline, and towing.
If you find a locksmith in the phone book, on the Internet, or through directory assistance, and a business address is given, confirm that the address belongs to that locksmith. Some disreputable companies list street addresses to give the impression that they’re local. But the addresses may belong to other businesses or vacant lots, if they exist at all. You can verify addresses through websites that allow you to match phone numbers with street addresses. Some legitimate locksmith companies may not include a street address in their listing either because they operate a “mobile” business or they operate their business out of their home and may be reluctant to list that address. If you call a locksmith who doesn’t list an address, ask why. If the answer is that it's a “mobile” business, you will understand they have no storefront.
Write down the names of several businesses, their phone numbers, and addresses for future reference, in case you don’t want to go with the first locksmith you call.
If a company answers the phone with a generic phrase like “locksmith services,” rather than a company-specific name, be wary. Ask for the legal name of the business. If the person refuses, call another locksmith.
Get an estimate for all work and replacement parts from the locksmith before work begins. In cases of “lock-outs” (being locked out of your car or home), most legitimate locksmiths will give you an estimate on the phone for the total cost of the work.
Ask about additional fees before you agree to have the locksmith perform the work. Companies may charge extra for responding to a call in the middle of the night. Ask if there is a charge for mileage, or a minimum fee for a service call.
If the price the locksmith provides when he arrives doesn’t jibe with the estimate you got on the telephone, do not allow the work to be done.
Find out if the locksmith is insured. If your property is damaged during a repair, or if faulty work leads to loss or damage, it’s important for the locksmith to have insurance to cover your losses.
When the locksmith arrives, ask for identification, including a business card and, where applicable, a locksmith license. Expect the locksmith to ask you for identification, as well. A legitimate locksmith should confirm your identity and make sure you’re the property owner before doing any work.
Some locksmiths will work out of a car for quick or emergency jobs, but most will arrive in a service vehicle that is clearly marked with their company’s name.
In the case of a lock-out, be cautious if you’re told up front that the lock has to be drilled and replaced. An experienced legitimate locksmith has invested in the tools and education to provide quality service, and can unlock almost any door.
After the work is completed, get an itemized invoice that covers parts, labor, mileage, and the price of the service call.

35th Ave Locksmith Presents Key Arizona Places: Red Rocks in Sedona
The Chapel of the Holy Cross |
Sedona's main attraction is its array of red sandstone formations. The formations appear to glow in brilliant orange and red when illuminated by the rising or setting sun. The red rocks form a popular backdrop for many activities, ranging from spiritual pursuits to the hundreds of hiking and mountain biking trails.
Sedona was named after Sedona Arabella Miller Schnebly (1877–1950), the wife of Theodore Carlton Schnebly, the city's first postmaster, who was celebrated for her hospitality and industriousness.
The first documented human presence in Sedona area dates to between 11,500 to 9000 B.C. It was not until 1995 that a Clovis projectile point discovered in Honanki revealed the presence of the Paleo-Indians, who were big-game hunters. Around 9000 B.C., the pre-historic Archaic people appeared in the Verde Valley. These were hunter-gatherers and their presence in the area was longer than in other areas of the Southwest, most likely because of the ecological diversity and large amount of resources. They left by 300 A.D. There is an assortment of rock art left by the Archaic people in places near Sedona such as Palatki and Honanki.
Around 650 A.D., the Sinagua people entered the Verde Valley. Their culture is known for its art such as pottery, basketry and their masonry. They left rock art, pueblos, and cliff dwellings such as Montezuma Well, Honanki, Palatki and Tuzigoot, especially in the later period of their presence. The Sinagua abandoned the Verde Valley about 1400 A.D. Researchers believe the Sinagua and other clans moved to the Hopi mesas in Arizona and the Zuni and other pueblos in New Mexico.
The Yavapai came from the west when the Sinagua were still there in the Verde Valley around 1300 A.D. They were nomadic hunter-gatherers. Some archaeologists place the Apache arrival in the Verde Valley around 1450 A.D. Many Apache groups were nomadic or seminomadic and traveled over large areas.
The Yavapai and Apache tribes were forcibly removed from the Verde Valley in 1876, to the San Carlos Indian Reservation, 180 miles southeast. About 1,500 people were marched, in midwinter, to San Carlos. Several hundred lost their lives.
The survivors were interned for 25 years. About 200 Yavapai and Apache people returned to the Verde Valley in 1900 and have since intermingled as a single political entity although culturally distinct residing in the Yavapai-Apache Nation.

Too Many Keys Floating Around?
Do you lock your front door at night?
Do you lock your front door when you leave your house?
Unless you live in Mayberry or some other Utopia I’ll bet your front door is locked more often than it is left unlocked. And that gives you a good sense of security, right?
How safe is your front door lock? How many duplicate keys are out there? Even if you are the only family to ever live in your house, I still need to ask “How many duplicate keys are out there?”
Do your children carry a front door key?
Have they ever lost that front door key?
Have you ever loaned your front door key to a pet or house sitter?
Have you ever loaned a front door key to a maid service?
Have you ever hidden a key outside so a friend or relative could get inside?
Have you ever left a front door key for your landscape service?
Have you ever hidden a key outside so a service person could get inside?
Have you ever loaned a key to a coworker so they could retrieve something you left behind?
Are you absolutely sure you know what happened to that “key” while it was away from your personal control. No, I am not suggesting that your friend or relative did something, but what happened while they had it. How careful were they? Are you sure someone didn’t see where it was being hidden or being retrieved?
Do you ever leave a key in your desk at work? Car or House? That desk drawer is always locked, right? You trust the office cleaning people 100%, even their temps, right?
Your household insurance policy will replace your missing or stolen content a 100% of their replacement value no matter how high the loss is, right? Is that your insurance agent you are calling right now? You have a local insurance agent, right?
Is it time to schedule a front door or whole hose re-key? Call 35th Ave Locksmith we are as close as your phone… 602-242-5429. Think professional service as the best protection!

Are Your Holiday Package Delivers Safe?
During the holiday season, Police Departments all over the country are advising residents to be aware of delivery packages being stolen from their homes and businesses. With the holidays quickly approaching, we want to take this time to remind our clients, customers, family friends and neighbors to protect themselves from being targeted.
Tips To Protect Yourself From A Home Delivery Theft:
• Send the package to the residence of a trusted friend or relative who you know will be home. Be sure that the friend is ready and waiting to retrieve the package when the doorbell rings.
• Ask the package delivery company to hold the package if you will not be home (many have local delivery centers). While we can't promise that this service is available, there are companies that will hold a package for up to 5 days.
• Request that your package is marked "Signature Required" This requires the delivery person to stand by and wait until you're available to retrieve the package. You could also put a note on your door, requesting the driver go to your next door neighbor for the signature.
• Leave special instructions on where to deliver the package. A good place is on the side or back of the house, so that the package is out of sight from the street.
• Ask your delivery person to take and discard the note with him/her or leave it with the package.
• Use a company that provides a tracking service and check online to see when your package is scheduled to arrive.
• Have the items shipped to the nearest store for "in-store pick up."
• If you have an understanding boss, have your packages delivered to you at work.
• If you have an outside security camera face if toward where packages will be left.
• Have a friendly trusted neighbor watch out for your house and packages.
If you have any questions, please do not hesitate to reach out to the Community Service Officers for your local police department. These simple tips can help make the holidays much less stressful and protect your deliveries. Have a safe and happy holiday!
